Hello! I am Gutsy Radio founder Mark (aka Mark in MD). An idea I had for many years finally was realized 5 years ago. I believed (and still do) that listening to music together in real time, with a variety of listeners from coast to coast, is a great way to build community and to discover new, exciting, challenging, freeing music. After assembling the tools and training, anyone with a computer, internet connection, and love of music can broadcast — some restarting after a break and others broadcasting for the first time. In 5 years, we’ve had 70 DJs in 20 U.S. states host shows on Gutsy Radio.

Today Gutsy Radio begins its second and final fundraiser of 2024. Gutsy Radio thrives because of our generous DJs, who volunteer their time to the station, and our incredible community of listeners. This allows us to keep our expenses low, but not insignificant. During the month of December we need to raise funds for 50% of our annual expenses which we use to pay for our broadcasting service and licensing fees. Our goal is $2000 and we appreciate your help reaching it! We hope to crush our goal by December 31.

Re-launching Memberships

We’ve offered memberships as a way to support Gutsy Radio since we began the station. These monthly donations have been collected via Patreon. We have switched to a new donation platform, Ko-fi, and hope to consolidate all our one-time and monthly membership donations in one place. We’re not cancelling our Patreon so you are welcome to keep your existing account and payments with them. But, we hope we’ll entice you and others to support Gutsy Radio with funds throughout the year with new incentives which you can only get via Ko-fi. Gutsy Radio turns 5!!!!!

In 2025, Gutsy Radio celebrates our 5th year of live broadcasting! We have so many folks to thank, and so much to share as we ramp up for a big celebration. Stay tuned in the new year for more details on our anniversary celebrations. You’re not gonna want to miss them!

In the meantime, with your donation here’s what we hope to achieve in 2025…

• We will double our listening audience.

• We will completely fill our schedule from 7pm-1am ET every weeknight, and 8am-12pm ET + 5pm-11pm ET on weekends.

• We will host our programming on our own broadcasting server to cut costs and have better reliability.

• We will redesign our website to provide more information about our shows / DJs and more ways to interact as a community.

• We will complete our documentation on how to create and run an online radio station. See in-progress documentation here.

• We will host and participate in more live events, bringing our community together IRL and expanding the love of live broadcasting.

• We will find and partner with a roaster to develop Gutsy Radio blend coffee.
